New Family Member

Introducing......Yuki, the wonder kitty!

A few weeks ago we got a new family member, Yuki the wonder kitten.

Derrick's dad, Richard was out shoveling at their house in Idaho after the last storm and got more then he anticipated. He scooped a shovel of snow up and a little half frozen kitten came tumbling out; somehow it had gotten separated from its mom and siblings and had gotten buried. He took it in to Bonnie, Derrick's mom, who called and asked if we would like a new kitten. She nursed it back to health until they came back down to the Hooper house, then brought it over to us.

It is the cutest Siamese kitten! She had a really bad cold in her eyes and we weren't sure if she would make it, but she's a tough little cookie and is doing much better. Derrick had some antibiotic powder that they used for the calves years ago that he has been putting in her eyes and it seems to be helping. I also read that Lysine would help as well, and have been putting that in a bowl of milk for her every night.

The kids were very excited since the previous kittens that we had brought home disappeared. We fixed up an area in our laundry room for her to sleep, Kenadie puts her to bed every night and lets her out first thing in the morning, her and the kitten are best of friends. She chases it around, and the kitten bounds away just out of her reach and then waits for her to catch up and does it again.
